Huron Valley Genetic Consulting was founded by Shannon Wiltse, a board certified genetic counselor. Shannon received her Master’s degree from University of Michigan in 1998. Shannon began her career at University of Michigan working in ophthalmic genetics. In 1999 she began working at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in the OB/GYN department. There she coordinated the prenatal genetics clinic and supervised many students from University of Michigan. In 2003 Shannon had the opportunity to become involved with a cutting edge preimplantation genetic diagnosis laboratory. Shannon has consulted with thousands of individuals and couples regarding various issues such as preconception testing, family history analysis, prenatal testing, and infertility.
In 2007 Huron Valley Genetic Consulting expanded to include a cancer genetics division which has over 20 years of experience in cancer genetic counseling.
